I've spent considerable time learning about and following a wide range of <strong>law of attraction gurus</strong> over the past several years. They generally teach that using the law of attraction is simple, all you have to do is ask, believe, and receive. <br />
<br />
<h3>Understanding Law of Attraction</h3><br />
Is it really that simple, or are the gurus lying to you?<br />
<br />
I would say I understand the concept of <a href="http://d4890rjc48pfbt1nr1z82w2zf2.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=INSPIREDABUNDANCE" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><u>law of attraction</u></a> quite well intellectually, but damn it can be difficult to apply it successfully.<br />
<br />
In a recent interview I did with spiritual author Cathy Matarazzo, one of the questions she asked was "what are you using it for?" And she went on to discuss the distinction between focusing on deliberately using law of attraction to serve yourself versus for selfless serving.<br />
<br />
This is an area where I find, for me, it is very easy to lapse into the trap.<br />
<br />
Vibrationally, when you are focusing on what you want to attract -- and let's just use the example of more money, since for most people that would be a big one -- the minute you place your attention on "more", what you are really declaring is that you don't have enough. Your focus is automatically on getting something, which of course is the opposite of the vibration you intend to attract.<br />
<br />
Conversely, when you place your attention on sincerely serving or helping others, your vibration is better in alignment with "love" -- which is the purest, highest vibration of all. When you operate from this place, you are suddenly much more of a magnet to receive that which you are giving, which may show up in many different ways ... including more money.<br />
<br />
In so being, you open yourself up to the <a href="http://d4890rjc48pfbt1nr1z82w2zf2.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=INSPIREDABUNDANCE" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><u>source of abundance</u></a>.<br />
<br />
<h3>Do Your Beliefs Serve You?</h3><br />
It seems to me that much of the art of mastering law of attraction is in filtering your thoughts and recognizing the underlying beliefs behind those thoughts. Once you recognize them, you can suss out whether they serve you or hinder you in attracting what you want. Make no mistake, for most of us, the vast majority of underlying beliefs we hold hinder us.<br />
<br />
On top of that, I've come to understand that there is a deep spiritual connection that is at the root of my ability to attract or repel the things I desire. The more connected with my spirit and who I really am, the more I operate from a sense of oneness with the Universe, and the more in tune with the higher vibration of love I become. Because I'm focused on the oneness, my orientation becomes one of service rather than need.<br />
<br />
This realization has actually made me feel uncomfortable because I've tended to hold some negative biases towards the whole notion of spirituality and the "new age" movement. Most of these relate to underlying beliefs I haven't even been aware of and the degree to which I entangle the concept of spirituality with religious beliefs. But that's an entirely different topic of conversation I'll leave well enough alone for today.<br />

I'd like to share them with you now.<br /><br />At any point in time, you have the ability to let go of the resistence within you and go with the flow of well being ... the flow of abundance ... the flow of love. <br /> <br />It is a much more glorious ride when you go with the flow. <br /> <br />When you focus on things in your environment that you don't like, you are interrupting the flow of abundance to you. Instead, you invite fears, loss of control, depression and feelings of disempowerment. <br /> <br />As a result, you feel unfulfilled, dissastified, frustrated, and discourged ... all as a consequence of not going with the flow. <br /> <br />When you do not feel wonderful, manifestation is slowed and you are out of alignment with the Universe.<br /> <br />Your solution is to just make the decision that, however you can allow it to happen, you will just turn and allow yourself to go with the flow. <br /> <br />Learn to "let it go" and, as they say, "let in God".<br /> <br />Your feelings are an indicator of the direction in which you are moving. When you stop fighting the flow, you will discover the point of relief.<br /> <br />This is truly your only choice: to either worse or feel better. You make that choice all day and every day ... whether to feel better or to feel worse in the moment. As an example, you can choose to participate in those discussions that you know will lead to quarreling or you can choose to let it go. <br /> <br />If you hear someone say "Oh crap, now look what happened," don't focus on their problem. They will start talking about it. You can feel it in your bones So take the time to really examine what role you are playing and in what story you have cast yourself. It’s prevalent as a theme in all of the self help teachings.<br /><br />Going back even further in history, the classic book The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles delivers the same message. This simple little book has spun countless derivative self improvement programs, among the more recent being the Inspired Science of Getting Rich Program.<br /><br />In his book, which was published in 1910, Wattles talks about the importance of thinking in the “certain way”. He discusses the importance of directing your will internally and holding the thought of what you want with full clarity and purpose, regardless of appearances. And always make decisions that will move you closer to your goals.<br /><br />Your results will immediately begin to improve.<br /><br />So, at the risk of repeating myself, if you are stuck, odds are it's because you are primarily looking at what was or what is.<br /><br />As Wallace Wattles points out in his book, until you look at where you intend to go, nothing can change.<br /><br />Drop the drama of your past. We live in a world where we've been conditioned to react to what's before us. With very few exceptions, we have forgotten how to choose our thoughts deliberately.</p><br /><p>Focusing on what you want for more than a few seconds at a time is very hard work which requires strong mental focus. It requires a strong will to hold your attention on the prosperity you are looking to attract while the value of the stocks in your retirement account are plummeting, or while the price of gas is going through the roof, or while another unpaid bill sits in your mail box, or while your bank account sits empty.</p><br /><p>And yet, if we are to be successful at using law of attraction, we must discipline our minds to do exactly that. We must learn to discipline our minds in order to stay fixed upon where we're going rather than where we are (or where we've been).</p><br /><p>This is the pre-requisite to mastery of use of the law and it requires persistence and practice. Lots of persistence. And lots of practice.</p><br /><p>After all, for most of us, there are decades upon decades of conditioning to be undone.</p><br /><p>And it's the single biggest reason most people fail at this. They may have the self discipline to focus on what they want for a day, or maybe two, but rarely more than that.</p><br /><p>It takes 30 days to build a habit -- in that time we're literally able to rewire the neural pathways in our brains so that a pattern of thinking becomes second nature. </p><br /><p>If you want to begin to master the art of law of attraction, the place to start is to build that habit of thinking that sees you place your focus and attention only on where you intend to go. Resolve to do so every day for 30 days. Persist through the periods of doubt or fear that inevitably arise. Hold your thought on where you want to go, no matter how difficult. That's it ... and yet it's the area where the vast majority of us have the most difficulty. We have difficulty because we're caught up in a story ... the story of "what was" or "what is", rather than the story of "what will be".<br /><br />And of course -- by law of attraction -- we get more of what we focus on.<br /><br />So the solution is very simple: focus our attention on telling ourselves a better story -- one that <strong>feels better </strong>and is focused on what we want. Start telling the story of what a life of inspired abundance looks like and feels like.<br /><br />Abraham provides some clear examples of what a better story might sound like and so make it very easy to apply.<br /><br />So the big take away from the book for me is to make a point of practicing telling myself a different story. And being diligent about doing so every single day, several times a day. It was moving and yet inspiring lecture, one of the most powerful I've certainly ever seen.
